Microvascular System, what does this affect?

Microvascular System, what does this affect?

The microvascular system is a network of vessels that carry oxygen and nutrients to tissues, whilst at the same time removing the build-up of CO2.  The arteries and veins carry blood and remove toxins for the whole body.  The Microvascular system is the circulatory system made up of minute vessels (such as venules or capillaries) that average less than 0.3 millimetres in diameter. Disease symptoms such as cholesterol levels, high blood pressure, smoking, insulin resistance, diabetes, overweight and obesity affect the microvascular system.  So any deficit in this area is of some concern.

Here is a list of a couple of conditions and herbs used to support them:

  • Raynaud’s syndrome – Cayenne, Cramp bark, Evening primrose oil, Ginger, Ginkgo, Hawthorn, Prickly ash.
  • Circulatory stimulants – Bayberry, Cayenne, Ginger, Ginkgo, Horseradish, Prickly ash and Rosemary.

Does any of these sound familiar book now and find out how I can assist you in the management of these symptoms in conjunction with your Health Team.

Eczema, Psoriasis and other Skin Irritations

Eczema, Psoriasis and other Skin Irritations

Eczema, Psoriasis and other Skin Irritations.

Skin irritations and rashes are something I commonly treat and see in my practice.  It’s amazing how many times I hear the GP gives cortisone cream as a solution as a first line of defence.  This is the greatest thing about Herbal medicine, I don’t offer one treatment fits all.  My solutions can be given orally or applied topically depending on the client’s needs.  I have a daughter that struggles all the time with Eczema and Psoriasis, she finds the creams I make up provide less itching and the rashes seem less pronounced.  Here a couple of herbs you can use for these conditions:

  • Acne – topically Calendula, Oregon grape, Poke root,  Barberry and Golden seal. Orally using Andrographis, Blue flag, Burdock, Chaste tree, Licorice, Nettle leaf.
  • Dermatitis – Albizzia, Baical skullcap, Blue flag, Burdock, Oregon grape, Poke root, Red clover, Sarsaparilla, Yellow dock. Topically Agrimony, Calendula, Chamomile, Chickweed, Comfrey, Golden seal, Gotu kola, Witch’s hazel and Yarrow.
  • Psoriasis = Blue flag, Burdock, Chickweed (topically) Clivers, Coleus, Oregon grape, Red clover, Sarsaparilla,  Yellow dock and Boswellia.

If your tired of suffering and want some relief, then book with me and we will tailor a solution just for you, your skin and your body.
