What conditions can be treated?
At Ahurani Herbalist, our consultation services begin with an initial meeting where we take a thorough history of your body, mind, and spirit. This consultation lasts for 60 minutes, allowing us to gain a comprehensive understanding of your unique needs. Following this, we offer a follow-up consultation scheduled two weeks after the initial meeting, with a duration of 30-45 minutes. We aim to provide you with the care and attention you deserve, tailoring our approach to support your well-being.

Deborah, the herbalist at Ahurani Herbalist, has a personal story that led her to the field of herbal medicine. Firstly, she discovered the benefits of herbal medicine when it helped her conceive her children against all odds, despite doctors saying it wasn’t possible. Deborah now proudly has two grown children who were delivered naturally. Secondly, she experienced frustration with conventional medicine’s approach to her health concerns, as it only addressed the symptoms rather than identifying the underlying causes. After undergoing specialist testing for seven years, she was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, which caused widespread pain, fertility issues, and skin problems. Through her own research, Deborah found that natural treatments like Herbal Medicine provided the much-needed relief and symptom control she sought, in conjunction with her prescribed medication from her General Practitioner.

My Approach is to listen to you, about your life, stress, previous illness, and then working with you current medical team, prescribe a tailor-made prescription for you.
My Process
After a 1:1 consult, I will research, any interactions with your current medictions, and allergies, then prescribe a herbal formual for you or tablets if you prefer.
Unique Framework
What is unique about my work, is that a doctors gives maybe 10 mins and treats the symptoms, I will give you 45 mins to 1.5 hours and treat the reason as well as the symptom.
But What About After?
How to Maintain Your Results
Drink Plenty of Water
One of the bodies biggest and easiest problems to solve is lack of hydration the human body required at least 2 litres of water per day, this doesn’t include coffee or any other dehyrating liquids.
Herbal Medications
Herbal medications can be hard to swallow as they are quite bitter, I personally have found the easiest way to take them, is a shot (either 7.5 mls or 5 mls whatever your prescription is), and then rapidly followed by either a pineapple, apple or orange juice, some people prefer to mix them into a beverage as long as it is cold that should be no problem, if you not sure email me and I will assist.
Most importantly take as prescribed by your Natural Practitioner and remember to attend your review appointments so the medication may be monitored, changed or updated according to your progress.
Frequently Asked Questions
Learn How it Works!
How many times to I take i?
Herbal medicines are usually prescribed 2 – 3 times per day, depending on your lifestyle, meaning that you can either take 7.5 ml twice a day or 5 ml three times a day. Just remember to take 2 hours away from other supplements/medications. You can take the liquid herbal script, either before or after other supplements/medications the reasoning behind this is it may affect the potency of them.
What does it taste like?
Honestly, most herbal liquids are very strong and bitter, but they are the fastest way into the body to act effectively.
How long until i see a results?
This will vary from person to person, but generally speaking, most people see results between 1-3 months. It’s important to follow up so that formula can be tweaked once you are feeling better. Please inform your practitioner if you have many concerns, there are many herbs that can do double duty.
What is the difference between Herbalist & Naturopath?
• Herbalists work exclusively with plant base medicine, their training is focused and dedicated to the healing properties of plants. Herbalists often can make their own medicines, so accurate information about sourcing and quality is readily available. Herbalists are THE experts on plant medicine.
• Naturopaths study many modes of healing including nutrition, health psychology, iridology, flower essence and botanical medicine. A naturopath would be considered more of a generalist in all these areas of holistic healing rather than a specialist.
